no, i think the nav bar to the left requires special configuration. for example, i added a page ("Navigation Prototype") and it did not show up there. that is why i started the Nav Proto page: for us to sketch what the highest level organization of the wiki might be.

the wiki engine might also have a table of contents option to automatically generate a TOC.
